Festive Nutcracker Trail launches in Evesham
Evesham Placeboard is excited to announce a uniquely Evesham twist on the traditional town centre character trail. This Christmas, the community has come together to create an enchanting Nutcracker Trail, featuring twenty themed 7ft tall nutcrackers crafted from repurposed giant parcel tubes, recycled art materials, and buckets of glitter and tinsel!
The trail, designed to encourage people to shop locally over the festive period, features nutcrackers with traditional Christmas themes such as Santa, Rudolph, and Snowmen, as well as unique nods to Evesham’s history, including Simon De Montfort and the famous Asparagus and Blossom festivals.
Caroline Tredwell, Place Project Officer for Evesham, added, “The Nutcracker Trail is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our town’s rich cultural history and horticultural heritage.”
Phil Maclean, Placeboard member and Retail Director at The Valley, said, “It’s a stunning example of creativity, craftsmanship and community spirit to bring some festive magic to Evesham. I’m looking forward to seeing the reaction from visiting families and hope it does encourage people to shop locally.”
Sixteen Nutcrackers can be found in shops throughout Evesham Town Centre, while the remaining four are located at The Valley. The Trail will run from November 23rd to January 4th, with trail maps available at participating shops and download here.
The project is being jointly funded by The Valley Evesham and Evesham Placeboard using some of Wychavon’s share of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
